The mission of the Westminster Towers Wellness Program is to improve the quality of life of each resident physically, psychologically, and spiritually by offering purposeful exercise programs and activities that address individual health needs, quality of life, and to encourage successful aging campus-wide.

From day-to-day, residents and staff have the opportunity to control their health by choosing from over 26 physical exercise classes, attending lectures on health related topics, and selecting from the various healthy menu choices in the dining room.

The Westminster Towers Wellness Philosophy is inter-woven into the daily fabric of lifestyle choices that covers the various aspects of the living. Our Seven Dimensions of Wellness focuses on the wholeness of the individual:

             1. Emotional: the awareness and understanding of one's own thoughts and feelings and those of others. Emotionally well people recognize their worth, seek out opportunities to develop positive relationships, and have an enthusiastic attitude towards life while embracing the challenges it brings.

2.Enviromental: both inside and outside, is the creation of and participation in safe and inviting surroundings. Enviromentally well people seek interdependence and harmony through an active partnership with their enviroment.

3.Intellectual: the engagement of the mind through continuous learning opportunities. Intellectually well people actively participate in stimulating activities and use a variety of resources to expand their knowledge and skills.

             4. Physical: the demonstration of respect of one's health and body. Physically well people make a commitment to maintain an active, fulfilling lifestyle by minimizing negative risky behavior, getting adequate rest and nutrition, and participating in physical activity.

5.Social: the willingness to develop, maintain and appreciate relationships. Socially active people show concern for others, value friendships, respect diversity, and contribute to the overall well-being of the community in which they live.

            6. Spiritual: the personal commitment one has to God and/or the discovery of meaning and purpose in life. Spriritually well people live out their core values, beliefs and have an appreciation for that which cannot be explained. They strive for inner peace, security and respect individual differences.

            7. Vocational: the use of personal gifts, skills, interest, talents, and knowledge for the good of others, organizations, and communities. Vocationally well people actively seek to learn new skills and serve others with their abilities.

Our dedicated Rehabilitation Department offers programming and services using therapists in a “one-to-one” approach, to assist in focusing on the client’s specific needs.  This level of care proves to offer numerous success stories.  These services are used for residents on campus and for those in the larger community needing outpatient services.

We are proud to have a certified gerontologist to serve as Westminster Towers' Medical Director.  He and his staff have numerous years of experience in working with our community needs and offering on-site visits to assist with clinical oversight.  However, residents are free to choose their own physician.

Westminster’s Health and Wellness philosophy focuses on being well, active, and making the most of our days.  And by the way…we have a lot of fun in the process!
